Coverage

Verizon’s network gives users great speeds across the country.

Verizon offers amazing speeds and coverage across the country, but the best coverage for you comes down to your location. It’s important to compare between providers on a coverage map of your specific city. Ookla’s coverage map allows you to see where cellular towers are located and which company owns them. Comparing tower locations can help you determine which of the big 3 network providers meet your needs.

The Plans

Verizon offers truly unlimited data with all of their plans.

Verizon offers 3 postpaid plans with varying hotspot allotments. Even if you’re in a packed sports stadium, you will get the same speeds as you normally do. The average phone user uses about 20GB of data per month, so all of their plans offer more than enough data to meet your needs.

It’s important to note that Verizon offers a $10 Autopay discount each month when you enroll. The prices listed here do not include the discount.

Let’s talk about each Verizon plan individually, and what they offer for their customers.

Best Overall: myPlan Unlimited Ultimate

This is Verizon’s newest and biggest plan, and it offers unlimited premium data every month. You also get 60GB of premium hotspot data, but your hotspot data becomes deprioritized after you hit that limit. This plan also includes international talk, text, and data capabilities that the other two plans Verizon offers do not.

This plan costs $85 per month without the $10 Autopay discount, which would bring the price to $75 per month.

Pros: unlimited premium data, hotspot data, international connection

Cons: limited premium hotspot data

Conclusion: best for heaviest data users, travelers

Runner Up: myPlan Unlimited Plus

This plan offers unlimited premium data each month like Unlimited Ultimate. However, it instead offers 30GB of premium hotspot data. Your speeds will slow down in times of high traffic if you go over the 30GB limit. This plan only includes international texting capabilities as well.

The plan costs $75 per month before the Autopay discount, and $65 per month for one line after.

Pros: unlimited premium data

Cons: no international talk and data

Conclusion: best for heavier data users

myPlan Unlimited Welcome

As the smallest plan, Unlimited Welcome offers unlimited deprioritized data. While it may slow down in times of high traffic, you won’t face any data cap no matter how much you use. You don’t get hotspot access included, but Verizon offers an add-on for 100GB of hotspot data per month.

This plan costs $70 per month for one line before the Autopay discount. The discount brings the monthly price to $60 per month for one line.

Pros: unlimited data

Cons: no hotspot access included

Conclusion: best for heavy data users

Family Plan Offerings

Verizon offers multi-line discounts.

Verizon allows up to 12 lines on one account, and users can receive significant discounts depending on how many lines they buy. If you buy 4 lines or more, you can get myPlan Unlimited Welcome for $25 per line per month.

Conclusion

The new myPlan Unlimited Ultimate is the best plan Verizon offers.

With unlimited premium data, 60GB of premium hotspot connection, and international connection opportunities, the myPlan Unlimited Ultimate is the best plan on Verizon’s roster. However, if you don’t use a lot of data, you may want to look at different plan offerings, as you won’t get the most use out of these plans. Verizon Prepaid offers several limited data plans that may better suit you and your needs.

To have a comprehensive picture of how much data you use month to month and what plan you need, we’d recommend checking your data usage before committing to a plan.
